TASTE TOMORROW TODAY
Thomson & Scott, the leading voice in alcohol-free sparkling wine, is demanding that the government tightens up the law on wine labelling as current legislation means consumers have little idea as to what is in their bottle. UK regulations to date have not required winemakers to include all the ingredients that go into making wine such as sugar, pesticides, herbicides, eggs and fish guts.
Amanda Thomson, CEO and Founder of Thomson & Scott believes that current descriptors used to determine the content of wine is archaic and confusing to the consumer and demands that the UK wine industry provides greater transparency in wine and wine labelling to enable consumers to know exactly what they're buying.
B Corp
Pursuing purpose as well as profit
B Corporations (or B Corps) are a growing group of companies who are reinventing business, by pursuing purpose as well as profit. Thomson & Scott has been certified as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.
The B Corp certification is for the whole of applicants’ businesses and covers five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process is rigorous, companies have to provide evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices - including energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete the certification, Thomson & Scott has legally embedded their commitment to purpose beyond profit in their company articles.
Truth, Transparency & the Environment
We’ve created a movement – a new category in the market – truthful, wine labelling.
The industry needs to be more transparent. Wine labelling is currently sparse in its detail and misleading in its description.
And in an effort to be one of the first wine companies to also put a real focus on our environmental impact, all our own deliveries are made with packaging that is 100% recyclable.
